As a global ministry, we are seeking a Christ-centered Video Editor and Producer who is called to be part of our team and skilled to help increase Faith Life’s global reach. If this sounds like your ministry calling, keep reading to see if we’re a match!
This position is responsible for the editing and production of the projects assigned, including spots, segments, product, and features, to support TV, radio, internet, and event productions. Responsible for the overall quality, concept, and final budget of the projects to ensure goals and objectives are met.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Fixing The Money Thing Producer and Director to determine the direction of projects assigned.
- Transport, operate and set up production equipment that includes camera equipment, sound systems, microphones, lighting, and props for location and studio production.
- Proficient with video editing software and related equipment.
- Operates audio signal processing equipment such as equalizers, noise reducers, and audio mixing software.
- Has a strong understanding of the visions of each production
- Develop concept, research subject, create a story line, write copy, establish art direction and visuals (storyboards as needed). Responsible for meeting creative, logistic, financial goals for each project and completing them on time, true to the concept, and in budget.
- Schedule project tasks, establish time frame, and communicating pertinent production information to team and staff.
- Estimate costs, submit budget for approval, monitor costs, close out budget with final actual amounts.
- Handle all other production functions associated with the assigned project, including, but not limited to, talent casting, location scout, production meetings, props, wardrobe, music.
- Creative involvement in brainstorm meetings.
- Screen footage and select appropriate video clips or messages needed for projects.
- Quality control audio and visuals; proofread print and copy.
- Work with outside production-related facilities or contract labor as needed. Operate as a liaison and representative of Faith Life Now Ministries, as needed, in person or in writing.
- Research broadcast and internet trends in Christian and secular markets. Remain informed of new technology (systems, equipment, processes) to keep Faith Life Now Ministries current and progressive.
- Present at work during business hours, attendance at all meetings, productions, sessions, and any other scheduled event that requires attendance.
- Good interpersonal skills: must work well with people, able to effectively communicate direction and decisions to all levels of support and leadership.
- Good verbal and written communication – for tasks including, but not limited to, scripting, proposals, presentations when interfacing with staff, partners, or production-related companies.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail – able to handle multiple projects at one time well, and prepared to meet project goals concerning the concept, due dates, and budget.
- Good time and money management skills to maximize resources, maintain efficiency and meet budgets.
- Must be prepared for scheduled meetings, shoot and production sessions, and able to meet project goals regarding concept, due dates, and budget.
- Positive attitude, flexible, optimistic, and professional - able to work effectively in fast-paced, adaptable to changing environments.
- Motivated, team player – with initiative, enthusiasm, operating in excellence. Must work well with others and not cause strife.
- Good eyesight and hearing
- Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, emails, data base software systems.
- Helpful to know how to operate/access: note logging software, internet, prompter, graphic generator.
- Helpful to know to operate/function: camera, lighting, audio, editing.
- Helpful to have awareness and knowledge of other cultures and customs.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minor in Journalism, English, Speech or Communications is helpful; or the equivalent of 5+ years’ experience
- 3+ years' experience producing ministry broadcast long-form programming
- Ability to provide a video resume
- Ability to commute daily to our Columbus, Ohio campuses; This is not a remote position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years minimum experience in an Editing and/or Producer role in the field of TV broadcast production or direct equivalent in video editing, video production, producing content for the television show, internet programming, or similar production, which demonstrates creative and logistic aptitude in and/or working knowledge of concept development, writing, art direction, scheduling, estimating, producing and editing.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools, operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, and other office equipment.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
- Able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, move or carry equipment
- Able to stand for a minimum of seven hours per day in various temperatures, depending on location and time of the job.
- Able to stand and sit in for a minimum of seven hours.
- Production shoots and post-production preparation may require you to assist in carrying equipment or materials. Must be able to carry production-related equipment or materials up to 40 pounds and climb stairs that lead to or from your workplace.
- Must be able to travel as needed and be away from home, generally no longer than 10 days at a time several times a year with the exception of special projects/assignments that could be longer.
- Works in office or studio settings, and in remote production environments. Must be able to travel as needed. May require long hours in order to complete a project. Must be flexible in work schedule per week.
