Title: VP, Corporate Systems Technology – Employee Experience
Location: NYC (hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office)
Role Summary: This role is responsible for the overall strategic direction and leading the organization in enabling and transforming all the functions which support running the business of MetLife. This includes Human Resources, Employee Care, Global Security, IT Operations, IT Risk, Global Resiliency and Integration and Data. The leader is charged to introduce innovation, driving for game changing, digitally enabled, modernized technologies while ensuring adherence to changing legislation and regulation. They must be a seasoned, inspiring, empathetic, and passionate leader able to bridge advisory, strategy, modernized technology solutioning and delivery. This individual must have the requisite leadership and influencing skills to be regarded as an effective business partner by their respective business peers and cross-functional MetLife leadership teams.

Direct/Indirect Reports: 7 Direct; 93 FTEs and 150 contractors Indirect
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategy incorporating emerging technology trends, industry standards, regulatory, and legal considerations culminating in technology roadmaps to drive business partner decision making.
- Partner and influence stakeholders at the senior most levels in the organization (EVP and SVP leaders); participate in strategic planning boards and discussions and be the trusted technology partner.
- Develop and implement the purpose and strategy based on the business partner objectives across all domains; align goals, execute flawlessly.
- Apply broad industry knowledge and external perspective toward structuring and executing solutions to complex business problems – bringing forward a range of technology solutions, third party vendors and direct advisory.
- Serve as a strong change agent and a visionary leader with the ability to lead and inspire technology professionals to succeed in a fast-changing market, keeping the team focused on breakthrough strategies and tactics to best leverage the resources of the company.
- Continually recruit, retain, rotate, develop a diverse team to ensure new technologies and innovation are forefront for the team.
- Deliver global technology solutions for large, complex programs (for example: large scale, movement of on-premise solutions to the cloud, employee experience mobility and collaboration capabilities, third party risk management, DevOps platforms etc.).
- Drive forward the DevOps and Agile methods to simplify processes, increase automation and speed of delivery.
- Manage and reduce Risk including Audit, Security, and IT Risk.
- Manage investing in the business initiatives as well as running the business through tight focus on operating expense and transparency of costs with the business; manage alternate sourcing arrangements for efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of IT or relevant technical experience, of which 10 should be at a senior management level.
- Experience as an inspiring leader who has led a global team of technologists through superior communication skills and strong leadership skills required to continually drive the team to deliver technology solutions, with leading edge capabilities, enabling business value and transformation for superior business impact.
- Client service mindset with proven ability to communicate complex concepts to a range of senior business stakeholders. Must have a track record of elevating technology at the most senior levels in an organization and partnering as a trusted peer to the business.
- Proven Track record of executive technology leadership within global businesses with scale, complexity, and geographical spread.
- Demonstrated front-end and backend application expertise, software development or leadership of software development teams preferred, bringing familiarity with many of the latest technologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading the introduction of new technologies and standards into an evolving systems environment (e.g., cloud-based applications and infrastructure, SaaS, user vs. maintained applications, mobility applications, security) including new ways of working via citizen development.
- Hands-on leadership experience and technical depth across the critical functions of a technology organization including creating and managing product development environments development, customer facing technical environments, and business applications.
- Deep knowledge of Human Resources, Employee Experience and other corporate processes and the standard (and emerging) industry IT solutions including cloud, DevOps, Agile, AI, Data Analytics, Big Data.
- Deep understanding of the data domain and the power of utilizing data solutions to drive velocity and deep analytics.
- Proven track record as a talent magnet, talent developer and talent scout that proactively engages external talent and builds and nurtures internal talent; empowers individuals and manages diverse teams to drive engagement and performance.
- Demonstrated experience building strong technical teams with a solid business acumen.

- Experience with portfolio management and expertise in portfolio management concepts and execution.

The wage range for applicants for this position is $204,900 to $273,200. The role is eligible for incentive compensation plan for your position.
