Our client is a South Boston-based ground-up development firm that specializes in multi-family home building, general contracting, historical building repairs, and fine carpentry.

Job Description

The VP of Operations is responsible for planning and overseeing operations activities and implementing strategies to ensure that the company's needs and objectives are met.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Grow business by implementing alternative strategies.
  • Manage all staff (Office manager/bookkeeper, Estimator, Site Supers, Project managers, etc.).
  • Manage all bookkeeper reports for the owner to approve.
  • Maintain all procedures & protocols (Enhance current operation manual).
  • Handle all customer relations.
  • Handle advertising. SEO, Web Updates, Social media posts (this can be subbed out)
  • Handle networking.
  • Oversee estimates.
  • Check the price board is up to speed for the estimator.
  • Implement new tech & software where applicable to help us grow without slowing operations.
  • Capture all change orders.
  • Handle account expenditure.
  • Manage ISD portal. Follow up with ISD on permits to be issued.
  • Handle all new hires/assessments
  • Send reviews after each well-done job.
  • Manage vehicle fleet & software.
  • Manage uniforms.
  • Maintain facility, office, equip.
  • Handle all equipment inventory.
  • Order all materials from best-priced vendors.
  • Make sure job sites are up to par for safety, signage, cleanliness,
  • Apply for utility services as needed.
  • Apply for online permits as needed.
  • Apply for sidewalk deposits
  • Apply for all CMP, TMP, NFPA241
  • Request all as-builts for civil, structural, architectural
  • Apply for all COO’s
  • Complete close-out tasks on all LLCs.
  • Accumulate all construction docs for ISD permit issuances on long forms.

Qualifications

  • Ability to manage different staff at the same time: Bookkeeper, Estimator, Site Supers, PMs, etc.
  • Ability to manage bookkeeper reports for approval
  • Experience with Advertising: SEO, Web Updates, Social media posts (this can be subbed out)
  • Experience with managing ISD portals. Follow up with ISD on permits to be issued.
  • Experience with applying for all CMP, TMP, NFPA241
