Position: Packaging operator

Location: Quincy, IL, 62301

Duration: 1 month’s contract

Pay Rate: $17.50/hr.

Shifts: General shift

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a packaging operator to assist us with repackaging our products. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading work orders, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and transferring materials and products between work areas. The job duties must be performed in compliance with and OSHA safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Quality Assurance (QA) specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Read work orders, SOPs, directions, and guidelines to determine production specifications and information.
• Stop mixing or blending machines when specified product qualities are obtained.
• Open valves and start pumps to transfer mixtures when required.
• Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using moving equipment and hand tools as needed.
• Follow all safety regulations, GMPs, and QA specifications.
• Promote the Way and Core Values
• Work well as part of a team
• Drive a forklift.
• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write.
• Computer literacy, including keyboarding and mouse use.
• Knowledge and experience in an industrial environment are a plus.
• Demonstrated history of safe work behaviour and a sincere desire to follow and improve upon safety policies and procedures.

This is a temporary position for 30 days, with a possibility of extension depending on business needs. We are looking for candidates who can start immediately and work full-time hours.
