Department: Manufacturing Reports To: Shop Supervisor

Date: March 2022PURPOSE OF POSITION Countryside Tank needs an experienced welder to join our team. We are seeking a hard-working individual who is skilled with hand tools, enjoys a challenge, and has the ability to work with minimum guidance. The ideal welding candidate will have previous welding experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Perform MIG weld and Flux Core Ark Welding
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and other written instructions
• Operate and maintain welding equipment in a way that does not compromise safety
• Weld components in various positions, such as flat, overhead, and vertical
• Measure accurately
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and others, as need arises

• 1-year previous welding experience preferred
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (helmet, steel-toed shoes, apron, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail
• Sound judgment skills

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and interpret documents such as fabrication drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate ideas effectively.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to measure accurately.

COGNITIVE DEMANDS

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand for long durations of time, climb, walk, sit, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Perform in a fast-paced manufacturing shop environment that is often exposed to dirt, noise, equipment movement hazard, and chemicals/solvents daily. This position is also occasionally exposed to temperature extremes.
