Maine Oxy is currently looking to hire a Welding Specialist in our South Portland, ME retail store. This is a hands on position with great opportunities to advance and learn other areas of the gas & welding industry.

The Welding Specialist’s responsibilities include:

• Promote safety as Job #1
• Provides customers with an additional level of product knowledge and technical expertise
• Troubleshoots and responds to technical problems posed by customers and branch personnel
• Assists in all phases of store operations
• Completes paperwork accurately and in a timely manner according to company policies and procedures
• Serves as primary in house contact for major customer base served by branch store
• For selected accounts, offers special prices or discounts based on specific guidelines and in certain circumstances, negotiates payment form
• Assists branch store sales staff in selling function and sales team in working up quotes
• Responds to customer complaints by taking action to resolve the issue according to company policy
• Other duties as assigned

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, speak and hear.
• Frequent sitting and standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; may stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus on objects.
• Ability to occasionally lift 25 to 75lbs.

Other Requirements:

• Class B License with Hazmat (HazMat can be obtained within 30 days of hire) Preferred but not required
• Welding Knowledge A Must
