We are seeking a WIC Service Associate. The primary purpose of the WIC Service Associate position is to obtain socio-economic, health, and dietary information, and identify problems that would determine a client's eligibility for the federally funded Supplemental Nutritional Program (WIC).
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct initial certification and recertification.
Collect anthropometric and hematological data.
Accurately obtains/documents and enter information in WOW system, proof of residence,
Identify, proof of income and proof of pregnancy.
Provide primary and secondary nutrition education.
Follow established federal and state guidelines prescribing infant formulas,
and appropriate food packages consistent with guidelines and the applicants
dietary/health requirements and preference.
Evaluates the need for and refers clients to other health, food assistance and social service program.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED required
Six (6) months related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Able to work independently
Excellent computer skills
Fluent in English and Spanish
Excellent time management, communication (verbal and written) skills.
Experience working with multi-cultural and special needs population.
Ability to provide excellent participant excellent participant centered customer service; basic nutrition knowledge; ability to prioritize work assignments; proficient in Microsoft word.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be willing to travel to various sites; perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or program coordinator.
Previous WIC experience a plus.

Starting Salary Range: $15.00-$19.90-$24.50 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
