Job Overview:
Under general supervision, provides prompt and courteous wine service to restaurant and lounge customers.
Responsibilities:
- Circulate through the assigned area, recommends and serves wine to guests.
- Manages the daily activities necessary for maintenance and promotion of the organization's wine collection.
- Ring guest checks, collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures.
- Increase revenue by Training Team Members to up-sell, and other suggestive procedures.
- Decrease expenses through proper handling of product, and other suggestive procedures.
- Works with the culinary team to develop food and wine pairings.
- Identifies and purchases wines for the organization.
- Monitors the conditions of the wine cellar, ensuring optimal storage.
- Follow and practice all alcoholic beverage laws, policies and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner; maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Formal Training
Bartending training and certification, TIPS Certified. Sommelier Certification
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar job.
Knowledge/Skills
- Must be 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.

- Bending -Bend to pick up dropped items as needed. Bend to assist in serving food or getting supplies.

- Mobility -95% of shift covering all areas of outlets
- No driving required.
- Must have moderate comprehension and literacy to read use records and all special requests.
- Must have ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, must be able to follow verbal and written instruction, and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations, particularly when handling multiple tasks.
- Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
- Ability to read, speak and write English.
- Ability to accurately count cash. Ability to operate cash register.
