Definition
This 12-month employee performs a variety of tasks as a resource in technology integration and professional learning. Under limited supervision, he/she works closely with the curriculum team and develops instructional videos, websites, and newsletters. They plan, provide, and evaluate the impact of professional learning for educators to use technology to advance teaching and learning. The employee facilitates linkages with parents, business/industry, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations to support student’s transition to postsecondary education and employment. They are reflective of their practice and establish productive relationships with educators in order to improve instructional practices and learning outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Stay current with trends in blended learning.
- Work closely with the K-12 academic services directors.
- Develop instructional videos and websites to communicate with families as they utilize the district’s digital resources.
- Create newsletters for internal and external stakeholders.
- Promotes career awareness, exploration, and planning.
- Facilitates work-based learning and career opportunities.
- Promotes the use of technology for career planning and research.
- Serves as a liaison with the business, industry, and education.
- Engages in professional growth opportunities to remain current with trends, demands, and emerging careers in a rapidly changing workforce.
- Promotes the integration of career research and work-based learning opportunities into academic courses.
- Serve as a leader in the planning, implementation, and deployment of digital learning, including devices, curriculum, professional development, and appropriate digital resources.
- Communicate the vision and requirements of an effective digital learning environment to appropriate stakeholders while utilizing relevant and current research and other data-informed performance measures and outcomes.
- Advocate ensuring that digital learning tools and resources support the diverse developmental, cultural, social, and linguistic needs of students and their communities.
- Demonstrate fluency with a wide range of digital resources which support inquiry and student-centered learning, professional best practices, and digital learning standards.
- Attends and contributes to regularly scheduled Instructional Department meetings.
- Reviews, recommends, and/or develops support materials to enhance teaching, learning, and achievement, including but not limited to pacing guides, assessments, manuals, etc.
- Analyze data both collaboratively and individually to inform instructional and professional practices and future program planning.
- Additional duties as assigned.

- Proven ability to plan, execute, and deliver professional learning at the district level.
- Technology literacy and skills related to the position.

- Proficient in Google, Microsoft, and Adobe platforms.
- Experience in video editing and digital content creation software.

- Must possess the visual acuity to prepare data, work with record processes, and do extensive reading and research.
- Possess a clear vision of middle to high school articulation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to be self-motivated.
- Ability to be creative.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
- Requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, hearing, reaching, standing, lifting, walking, grasping, and talking.
- Requires the ability to talk and hear: (Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words. Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds by ear.)
- Must possess the visual acuity to prepare data, work with record processes, and do extensive reading and research.
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, etc.
- Employee must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Requires the ability to drive a personal vehicle between school sites as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university required.
- Experience at both middle and high school levels is preferred.
- Experience supporting teachers.
- Experience in video editing software.
- Experience in technology (software and hardware) updating, maintaining, and supporting teachers.
- Experience in digital content creation software
Reports to: CTE Director
Classification: Exempt
Salary: North Carolina Central Office Salary Schedule (CO 1)
