Philanthropy & Special Events Manager Salary: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00

The Philanthropy & Special Events Manager will work to centralize the philanthropy operations, generate and analyze monthly reports to support donor research, donor acknowledgement, fundraising campaigns, special events, donor cultivation, and stewardship plans to help achieve annual sustaining goals. The Philanthropy & Special Events Manager reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Philanthropy.
Some of the exciting things you will do as the Philanthropy & Special Events Manager:
- Manages philanthropy operations in the areas of database management, and fund development that supports the organization's annual fund, grant management, campaigns, and events.
- Manages accurate receipting and designations of all donations in the organization's database and all tracking systems (Salesforce CRM).
- Manage and support Y branches and the association's special events as needed.
- Manage the department's corporate sponsorship applications and submissions to support campaigns and special events.
- Serve and lead appointed internal committees to advance the association's mission.
- Manage and track the association's board giving reports and minutes.
- Generate monthly philanthropy reports that will provide data analysis for solicitations, stewardship, prospect research, and cultivation to support a strong culture of philanthropy.
- Tracks and maintains data integrity that will create and support fund development campaigns, grants, events, year-end requests, and major donors connected to the Senior Vice President’s annual financial development goals.
- Manages the industry standard of donor recognition, stewardship, and acknowledgments under the leadership of Senior Vice President of Philanthropy.
Schedule: The Philanthropy & Special Events Manager is expected to work on-site and make in-person visit to the various YMCA branches in the DMV area as needed.
Qualifications and Skills: We seek a leader with values that align with the Y’s mission:
- Bachelor’s Degree or applicable certification
- 3 years of development experience, preferred
- Wide-ranging understanding of philanthropy, i.e. major gift solicitation and relationship management
- Outstanding communication skills in data analysis, data reporting, writing, speaking, and listening
- Knowledge of Sales Force, Online Giving, and other donor tracking systems
- Ability to drive to various locations in the DMV area

Experience:
- Fundraising: 3 years (Preferred)
