Position: Youth Assistant

Location: Wailuku, Maui, HI

Experience / Education: Credits toward a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Type: Full-time; Temporary (Seasonal - Summer)

Schedule: To be discussed during interview *Available to work flexible days and hours, which may include evenings and weekends*

Pay: $16/hr

Employers Options is seeking a Youth Assistant to join our growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Facilitates outreach activities and recruits and enrolls youth into the program. Make referrals to various community agencies as needed.
• Administer self-esteem evaluation, job skills assessment, and life skills evaluations, and ensures pre and post questionnaires are completed to capture what was learned after activities.
• Support youth participants through peer lead training and programming.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Must have a valid Driver's License
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred
• Experience working with at-risk youth
• Understanding of the causes and effects of underage drinking and living in poverty or at-risk conditions
• Excellent interpersonal skills, which include, written, verbal and listening
• Ability to instruct and motivate others and provide training and work direction
• Organized, detail and tasks oriented
• Working knowledge of basic computer applications including desktop applications and data entry
