We are seeking a motivated Injection Mold Specialist to lead the daily production and process optimization of our injection molding machines.

This position is responsible for having the knowledge and proficiency for operating plastic injection molding machinery and tools as well as basic preventative maintenance of them. As an Injection Mold Specialist, you will set up machine controls, plastic molding process parameters/ settings regulating molding process conditions (i.e., temperatures, pressure and cycle times, according to knowledge of plastics and molding process specific parameters-settings), change molds as needed, sets up molds, start up production, troubleshoot any and all associated problems, and help maintain all equipment and tools in working condition through preventative maintenance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Performs basic setup and operation of plastic injection molding machines (including setting the mold in the press and following all safety protocols to ensure it is fully secured in the machine)
• Perform new mold setups
• Perform basic set up functions and troubleshoot for robotic/automation systems
• Perform start-up and shut-down procedures
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and repairs; Troubleshoot injection molding, auxiliary, and secondary operations
• Review the production schedule together with planner at the beginning of the shift
• Performs set up, mold change over and preventative maintenance
• Notifies Maintenance Supervisor if the mold, machine, or production equipment is not capable to meet the quoted/ defined cycle time or part quality
• Operates industrial lift truck as well as overhead cranes, to carry molds to and from machine, move materials and products
• Train leads as needed
• Performs and assists with maintenance and machine repair on a need basis
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products
• Takes active interest in the quality of products
• Takes an interest in the health and safety of the company
• Performs all other duties as assigned

What We Require

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Plastic molding manufacturing environment, including process set-up, instillation and troubleshooting
• Experience utilizing work instructions to form plastic molded products
