Position Summary and Job Duties
This position will perform general accounting duties to support the tasks of the Human Services Department's Children's Long Term Support (CLTS) programs. This includes processing, recording, and summarizing financial information for both internal and external consumers. This position Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the Human Services Department. Performs in a manner consistent with the HSD Professional Standards and Commitment to My Co-Workers.
85% - Children's Long-Term Support (CLTS) Program
- Calculate daily payment authorization from program staff, correct denied authorizations, and relay to case workers for correction. Approved authorizations are scanned and emailed to providers
- Troubleshoot any errors by verifying codes and researching past authorizations
- Payment mismatching: Confirm payments and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) against claims submitted. Create a review list
- Process credit card purchases for CLTS waiver. Add claims, check numbers/dates to Other Charge spreadsheet. Reconcile monthly charges. Enter appropriate data onto Claims Submission spreadsheet. Submit these purchases to third-party administrator (WPS) e-file and deposit payment upon receipt
- Assist to ensure all county claims are paid and follow up with WPS for non-payment of services
- Reviews and submits back-billing for CLTS claims
- Sends and analyzes CLTS service authorizations
- Problem solving as it relates to CLTS claims with staff, providers, and state CLTS contacts
- Assist with fiscal maintenance of Individual Service Plans for the CLTS program
- Act in a substitute role for other Accounting staff for CLTS tasks and needs
- Other duties as assigned
Success Factors (KSA's)
- General knowledge of bookkeeping and Human Service programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficient data processing skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy and ability to problem solve.
- Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and various accounting software.
- Ability to work with internal staff and outside agencies to ensure accurate information and correct payments.
Job Requirements, Education, Training & Experience
High School graduate supplemented by coursework in bookkeeping and four (4) or more years of responsible bookkeeping experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
