Job Purpose: This is an important and exciting role responsible for growing our customer and manufacture base, generating revenue and building meaningful working partnerships. Our Account Managers work closely with our Inside Sales team to provide world-class customer service and value for which the Hugh M. Cunningham Companies are known. This role is responsible for all sales activities in assigned accounts or regions. Responsible for generating revenue by developing market potential through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, closing sales; recommending of product, and marketing activity reporting.
Job Duties and Responsibility:
- Serves as a knowledgeable research partner and provides expertise to perspective and existing customers.
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with Customer Service Department.
- Compiles list of perspective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspaper, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet web site, and other sources.
- Travel throughout territory to call on regular and perspective customers to solicit orders or talk with customer in person or by phone.
- Display or demonstrate product, using samples or catalogs, and emphasize saleable features.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for order obtained.
- Estimate delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firms’ production or delivery schedules.
- Works with inside sales representative to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Coordinate customer training.
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into CRM database.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Present and sell products to current and potential clients.
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specifics targets.
- Identify and resolve client concerns.
- Participate in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows.
- Analytical- Uses intuition and experience to complement data.
- Customer Service- Manage difficult or emotional customers situations; meets commitments.

Skills/Qualifications: Excellent verbal/written communication skills, effective closing skills, motivation for sales, ability to learn products, polices, procedures and pricing for each manufacturer assigned, great follow-up skills, presentation skills, prospecting skills, Territory management, excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in sales or marketing related field. 3 to 5 years’ experience outside sales experience in related field.
