Our Commercial Lines Middle Markets Practice is looking for a Account Manager to join their collaborative and industrious team. The Commercial Middle Markets Practice provides risk management and consulting services to Technology, Life Science and Commercial organizations enabling them to understand their property and casualty exposures and mitigate their losses. As a Account Manager, you are responsible for the overall management and service of new and existing business. This role acts as an ambassador, commanding a high degree of technical knowledge and the ability to speak confidently about the markets and coverages with both internal and external stakeholders.
As a Account Manager, you will work closely with either an Account Executive or Producer to drive strategy and ensure the account management is moving along smoothly. The ideal candidate must be able to build strong client relationships and deliver client centric solutions. In addition, the ideal candidate must see ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies. Equally important is the ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments in a manner that aligns with organization goals.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain relationships with clients in the form of developing solutions, generating new opportunities, and ensuring that all client needs are met.
- Collaborate with colleagues to resolve client issues in a manner that consistently delights our clients.
- In collaboration with an Account Executive or Producer, analyze potential clients' business needs and provide advice on the products that mitigate or transfer risks.
- Lead the development of renewal proposals that reflect any changes in the current programs and/or clients' needs and participate in the presentation of information to clients.
- Assure that internal agency management systems contain quality and accurate data for assigned clients.
- Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education.
- Effectively engage stakeholders inclusive of colleagues, vendors, and carriers in the form of arranging actions, meetings, and supporting materials as needed to meet clients' needs.
- Effectively managing an assigned book of business predominantly in Commercial Middle Market
- Maintain a current understanding of coverages and market trends affecting property and casualty, and brokering the placement of insurance for these clients
- Manage contract reviews
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience managing and marketing with heavy emphasis in property and casualty coverages
- Ability to negotiate and maintain relationships with carriers
- Very strong communication skills - oral, written, phone and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and build client relationships
- Strong presentation skills - ability to lead meetings and be comfortable in a client-facing role
- Strong analytical, organization and time management skills
- Ability to work as a team player
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint desired
- Excel Proficiency including but not limited to IF Statements, V Lookup, Calculating cost per SF, premium allocation, pivot tables, and creation of graphs/charts
- Minimum of 10 years of industry experience (5 years broker side)
- College degree preferred
- Driver license required, reliable transportation and ability to travel as needed
- Current Fire & Casualty license required
