Accountant Job at Kohler and Franklin
Kohler and Franklin, LLC is a family-owned accounting firm seeking a permanent, full-time staff CPA. This position entails client contact and responsibilities from start to finish.
The staff CPA will:
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations for accounting clients.
- Prepare financial statement compilations on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis for accounting clients.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax and sales tax reports, and assist clients with paying these taxes as necessary. (Forms 940, 941, UC‐101, WT‐6, WT‐7, ST‐12, or electronic equivalents.)
- Prepare annual information returns (Forms 1099 or electronic equivalents).
- Prepare U.S. and Wisconsin (and other states) income tax returns for individuals, fiduciaries, and businesses (Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120‐S, and state equivalents).
- Prepare other U.S. tax filings as may be required for various clients (Forms 990, 706, 709).
- Assemble tax returns as may be required for client signature.
- Assist tax return clients with year‐round tax planning concerns, including interaction with financial advisors and third parties.
- Be prepared to work nights and some weekend days during the January – April busy season.
- Other tasks may be assigned.
The staff CPA should:
- Have a valid and active Wisconsin CPA license.
- Be a member of the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
- Be current in state and Institute continuing professional education requirements.
- Have a valid IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
- Have a valid driver’s license for occasional local client meetings.
