Accounting Assistant

Job Description

This job involves working in the real estate industry doing accounts payables, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and other administrative tasks and projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Entry of vendor invoices which are coded and descripted by property managers while verifying coding consistency and accuracy.
  • Distribution of credit card statements to employees. Enter details into an Excel spreadsheet which is sorted and entered in the appropriate accounting system.
  • Deposit rent, investor, and vendor checks and record receipts.
  • Record investor notes and equity entries and calculate and enter quarterly payments and note payoffs.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and delinquencies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain files and documentation according to company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or one year of accounts payable or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization skills as well as being detailed oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, adapt to changes, and multi-task
  • Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of invoices.
  • QuickBooks experience is a plus.

Pay: $17 - $22 per hour

Hours: Full-time; 40 hours per week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
