Since 1960, Viking-Cives has manufactured a wide range of truck equipment that makes snowy and icy roads safe for individuals, families, school buses, etc. We specialize in customizing snow and ice removal equipment for heavy municipal, county, and state trucks by installing a variety of specialized equipment. You may never have heard of us, but you have seen our trucks on the road as they make our snowy and icy roads safer for you, your family, and your friends. Our brand-new manufacturing and installation facility is opening in Battle Creek, Michigan (Viking-Cives Great Lakes Division). We are the fourth division in a growing corporation with locations across the United States and Canada.
Job Summary:
As our Accounting Manager, you will be helping to open a brand-new plant! You will report directly to the GM but will be given the flexibility to manage your team as you see fit. A mindset of continuous improvement and outside the box thinking is important, as we constantly try to better ourselves in every aspect of what we do. Best of all, we are a fully employee-owned company where we work together as a team to build a successful and profitable business.
Responsibilities
- Manage the financial accounts, payrolls, budget, cash receipts and financial assets for Battle Creek operations
- Handle transactions and debts and do cash flow forecasting
- Perform financial audits
- Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives
- Monitor and analyze financial accounting data
- Create financial reports based on data analysis
- Make recommendations to business stakeholders
- Develop and coordinate training program for accounting staff.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required; we are a Team, and we support each other.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master's degree preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing or truck equipment industries
- 2+ years of Accounting or Finance Management experience in a positive culture
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Infor CSI
- Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations
- Superior data management and data analysis skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy
- A proven ability to be a respected, trusted, and effective leader
- A proven ability to interview, hire, and build a high performing and engaged team
- A demonstrated ability to collaborate up, down, and sideways
