SUMMARY:

Reviews invoices and statements to ensure accuracy and processes them in accordance with Accounting rules and procedures. The Accounts Payable Clerk will assist with questions and other Accounting tasks as needed.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and process vendor invoices and statements received by the casino for validity, coding, and approval.
  • Perform aspects of daily check issues from the initial selection through printing, organizing, obtaining signatures, and eventual filing of all the supporting documentation.
  • Verify documents for goods purchased using purchase requisitions and purchase orders and then assemble them daily for data entry.
  • Organize and enter invoices from departments where requisitions are not required, such as the convenience store and food purchases.
  • Maintain exceptional organization of all accounts payable documents in their various stages of the payment process.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment disputes, missing documents, and general questions.
  • Assist with all internal or external audits that include requests for accounts payable related information.
  • Responsible for obtaining W-9 federal tax information from vendors where it is appropriate and assisting in the annual process of completing and submitting Form 1099’s to vendors and the federal government.
  • Assist in other accounting tasks as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year bookkeeping experience or two years college level bookkeeping, accounting or related classes preferred; six months bookkeeping experience or one year college level bookkeeping, accounting, or related classes required.
  • Must be able to obtain a Coeur d’Alene tribal gaming license.


Skills/Knowledge:

  • Basic computer skills in Windows and Outlook.
  • Excel and MAS200 accounting software experience are preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of calculators, computers, printers, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure document confidentiality a must.
  • Must have a positive and productive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to promote positive customer service.
