As a premiere tennis, pool, pickleball, and fitness facility in Western North Carolina, ARC is not only a place to be, but also a place to belong. As ARC activities director you will be responsible for creating and implementing a calendar of events that allows members to engage in organized activity on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis. The main focus of this position is to create activity within each department so that we are engaging with ALL members of ARC. A top priority will be to work with department heads to coordinate all of the moving parts for all events. This person’s involvement will be from the creation to the execution of the event. The goal is to maximize member participation in these events with a big picture view of retaining existing members and attracting new members. ARC’s slogan is “Where Friends & Family Meet” and we are eager to find an outgoing person to help support that environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The creation of activities would include events, challenges, food specials, incentives, games that members can access on their own time and Holiday parties
  • Create activities that are kid friendly, adult friendly and family friendly
  • Work closely with GMs on spaces for events, items needed for events, staffing requirements, etc.
  • Engage in conversation with different groups of members to find out what activities and/or events are desired
  • Engage in conversation with all members to help promote and encourage participation in activities and events
  • Meet with all department heads on a monthly basis to discuss upcoming events and/or past events
  • Meet with all department heads that are involved in an upcoming event multiple times prior to the event so ensure all items are complete
  • Be present for any activity/event that requires a staff person to facilitate
  • Make arrangements with outside contractors/vendors if needed for any events
  • Submit check requests to GM so that all services are paid for in a timely manner
  • Work with GMs on creating budgets for all activities /events
  • Make decisions regarding charges for events if applicable
  • Serve as a welcoming committee as members participate in events or show interest in events
  • Reach out to all new members and make sure they know about the calendar of events, encourage participation in efforts to getting new people acclimated and engaged quickly after joining
  • Create a monthly newsletter that highlights the club events
  • Provide all content (e.g. flyers and notifications) for all club events
  • Communicate the content for the events via flyers and social media, mail chimp e-mails, and phone calls to the appropriate target audience.
  • Be able to change and edit basic website information that does not require website formatting.
  • If website formatting or constant content needs to be changed, work directly with company- wide marketing specialist so that websites can remain current and all online searches are being optimized and reflecting what is actually happening at ARC
  • Assist in organizing employee appreciation events

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of progressively successful activity directing, supervisory, and professional experience with outstanding people, marketing, management, problem solving, communications, computer, coaching, and training skills, or equivalent.
  • Completion of a B.A. or B.S. degree is required
  • Current CPR, First Aid, AED and personal training certification a plus.
