Adjunct Lecturer of Communication – Digital Content, Production, and Distribution Job at USC
The Master of Science in Digital Media Management (MSDMM) program at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism seeks a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to teach the course DMM 515 – Digital Content, Production, and Distribution in Summer 2023. This course explores the evolution of digital media content, content categories in digital media, innovations in content production techniques and technologies, and the digital distribution revolution. In this course, the Adjunct Lecturer will teach students how to:
- Differentiate between types of current content categories.
- Correlate the business models used for digital media distribution and their current market leaders.
- Compare the impacts of direct-to-consumer distribution and their current market leaders.
- Illustrate the effect of production technology advancement, industry innovations, and their potential impacts.
- Assess the market potential for various types of digital media creations, depending on return on investment, business models, and cost to produce using certain technologies.
- Analyze the ethical implications of using technologies in certain content production and distribution roles.
Ideal candidates will have at least 10 years of experience in digital media buying, measurement, and analytics, along with teaching experience in marketing, digital media, or other fields of applied communication.

Qualifications:
Preferred Education: A master’s or Ph.D. in communication, public relations, marketing, business management or related fields.
Preferred Experience: Minimum 10 years professional experience within a corporation, university, or independent consultancy. Teaching experience in marketing, digital media, or other fields of applied communication. Demonstrated ability to coach and help students achieve their academic and professional goals.
The hourly range for this position is $$36.37 - $45.46. USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
