Our Firm currently has a great opportunity for a high energy Application Trainer, to collaborate closely with our smart, experienced and creative team to provide live and remote classroom, one-on-one and online training for new and existing employees on all computer applications used by the firm. This position will be located in our New York City office, with occasional travel to our other national offices.

Training and Development Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the training of all new hire, temporary and current employees on customized computer applications, communications systems, firm technology policy and procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinate and schedule training, including brush-up and skill enhancement classes.
  • Provide ongoing floor and remote support as needed by end users.
  • Conduct regular workshops and training classes on technical applications and processes.
  • Consult as a subject matter expert and support the training adoption of our professionals.
  • Promote best practices and coach on how to utilize technology and related standards.
  • Learn new applications and design training curriculum using various methodologies.

Curriculum Development

  • Identify knowledge gaps.
  • Collaborate on the design, development, and review of curriculum and training documentation for applications and software upgrades.
  • Assist the Senior Training Manager with the planning and development of specialized training.
  • Create and customize training videos, including micro-learning, for eLearning.
  • Recommend, develop and implement innovative learning and development programs.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in beta-testing for new applications and upgrades.
  • Perform requisite administrative course preparation (organize class outlines, reference sheets, etc.).
  • Work on special projects and perform additional related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have 3-5 years of training design and delivery experience; law firm environment preferable.
  • Must have a strong understanding of current technology and the ability to learn new and modern technologies quickly.
  • Must have engaging presentation skills and the ability to present subject matter in understandable terms to adult users with various levels of computer experience.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and interpersonal and critical thinking skills required.
  • Expert level skills in MS Word and Outlook required.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office 365 products required.
  • Experience in iManage , Litera Forte, Carpe Diem, and MS Teams highly preferred.
  • Experience with LMS tools, Chrome River, InTapp Open or their equivalents a plus.
  • Experience recording software simulations for eLearning highly preferred.
  • Experience working with Premiere, Storyline and Audacity a plus.
  • Experience with adaptive, and competence-based training preferred.
  • A self-starter who demonstrates ownership and commitment to the job.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications as the need arises.
  • Display a sense of urgency, flexibility and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be flexible to work over 40 hours per week, travel on occasion, accept tasks outside of normal job duties, and be open to assume new responsibilities if the needs of the department change.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong client service focus and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.

The base annual pay range for this role is between $85,000-$125,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
