We are seeking a new Apprentice for our State of Wisconsin sponsored Journeyman Tool & Die Maker training program to work alongside our team of veteran Toolmakers. Our facility is unique in that each toolmaker leads his/her project from start to finish through all phases and manufacturing requirements.

Our Toolmakers build and repair gauges, jigs, fixtures, and construct progressive metal stamping dies to shape metal in stamping operations. We have a great work environment where we help each other and hold each other accountable.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, manage and construct intricate tools, dies, fixtures, and gages to close tolerances from a set of prints
• Setup and operate machine Mills, Lathes, Horizontal Grinders and various hand tools to produce precision parts
• Identify areas for improvement, including the creation of new tooling and fixtures, and batch scheduling to take advantage of the equipment’s “lights out” manufacturing capabilities
• Be a positive influence on your coworkers and contribute to a great work environment

Qualifications:

• Be comfortable in a high precision environment where tolerances are routinely 0.0001" - 0.0002"
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
• Familiarity with machine tools and equipment (Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Wire EDM, etc)
• Problem solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to focus
• Be a good person, that others want to be around
