Title: Server/Bartender/Host
Reports to: Hospitality Manager, Bar Manager, or General Manager
Summary of Position:
- Works within a designated station,
- Manages each assigned guest’s dining experience from the time they are seated until they depart.
- Through his/her attitude, attentiveness and demeanor, the server ensures that each and every guest’s experience is in coordination to our mission statement.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Takes drink orders, suggesting specialty drinks, non-alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and delivers them promptly and accurately to each guest
- Explains Arooga’s versus regular restaurants
- Responsible beverage service
- Suggests an appetizer and delivers it promptly (if ordered)
- Takes each guest’s order
- Suggests add-on sides and salads
- Knows Arooga’s menu thoroughly and accurately, answers any questions a guest might have about menu items and preparation options
- When Delivering entrées to the table, giving each guest their specific order without “auctioning” the food at the table.
- Checks back with the guests within two (2) bites to make sure everything is prepared to their satisfaction.
- Without being intrusive, observes when drinks need to be refilled or dishes need to be cleared
- Enters all food and drink items at the POS station, ensuring all items are entered accurately
- Adheres to all standards listed on the Bases of Service card
- Presents the check and picks up the payment in a timely fashion. Makes correct change and/or completes the proper charge card procedure
- Pre-bus table by clearing all food items
- Resolves any guest complaints immediately unless a Manager is required to assist with a guest. Exercises judgment in the most appropriate way to satisfy the guest and recover flawlessly (L.I.F.T.)
- Observes other stations and helps other team members when needed
- Completes any other duties assigned by a Manager
- Weekend, evening and holiday work is required
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good reading, writing, and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to exercise good judgment when dealing with problem resolution
- Ability to anticipate guests’ needs
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of and ability to use the POS station quickly and accurately
- Ablity to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others
- Be able to find or have a reliable source of transportation
- Successfully completes and passes the RAMP Certification program or certification equivalent to the corresponding state’s law
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
