Wu Chow has been serving it's farm-to-wok cuisine in downtown Austin since 2015. It's time to open a second location on North Lamar. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help guide this new restaurant to greatness.

We are passionate about people development. You will receive a comprehensive 4 week training which will take you across our restaurant group and ensure that you start with us in the best possible way.

Assistant General Manager:

  • The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting the General Manager in the daily operations of our restaurant, including the selection, development and performance of employees.
  • Supports the BOH team in all areas for the benefit of the restaurant.
  • Participate in driving sales in both internal and external communications.
  • Assist in the management and oversight of food and beverage costs.
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to ensure appropriate labor costs at all times.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Enforce, with the Management Team, sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent, high quality service and a fantastic guest experience.
  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Ensure consistency in all menu items both in terms of quality and portioning.
  • Creative mindset geared towards inventive marketing and intrinsic motivation towards development of return clientele.
  • Managing shifts on the floor.
  • Motivating the team.
  • Scheduling and planning.
  • Engaging with customers and dealing with all responses, positive and negative.
  • Interview, train, support, and take responsibility for the well being of, all FOH team members.
  • Will uphold all Travis County HHS guidelines.
  • Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests and company assets.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
  • through regular checks, accident reports and maintenance of appropriate standards and controls.
  • Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
  • Take direction from General Manager for hiring, supervision, development and, when necessary, termination of employees.
  • Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews.
  • Plan ahead to support and protect the needs of the restaurant.
  • Community Involvement: Provide strong presence in local community and high level of community involvement by restaurant and personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be TABC and Food Manager certified. College degree is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable.
  • A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative.
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel & Word necessary.
  • Prior experience with Toast, scheduling and inventory management tools is preferable.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
