STATUS: Full Time, Tenure-Track

Position Summary:

The Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences at Campbell University seeks applicants for a full-time (9 month), tenure-track faculty position in Biology, at the assistant professor level, on the main campus in Buies Creek, North Carolina, beginning as early as August 2023.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching assignments will be based on the candidate’s experience, training, and departmental needs. Anticipated responsibilities include teaching and coordinating classes and labs in Fundamental Microbiology designed primarily for pre-nursing students. Additional teaching assignments may include classes or lectures in General Biology, Introduction to Research and Scientific Literature, Microbiology and Immunology, and/or Essentials of Microbiology and Biochemistry. Other responsibilities include academic advising, scholarly activity, and university service. Candidates must be committed to liberal arts education, support the Christian mission of the University, and be dedicated to excellence in undergraduate teaching, mentoring students, service, and scholarship.

Education/Experience:

Ph.D. in Microbiology or related discipline is required. Experience and/or expertise in environmental microbiology, biochemistry, and toxicology considered a plus. Undergraduate teaching experience or training in science pedagogy is essential.
