As an Associate Manager, Project Accounting you will manage activities of Project Accounting teams within the Analytical Services Division (ASD). You will ensure organizational adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements.

Summarized Purpose: Manages activities of project accounting teams. Ensures organizational adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements. Ensures timely preparation and review of all required regulatory filings. Reviews work submitted by accountants and supports as a SME in accounting close processes. Performs analysis on organizational or business unit financial and accounting metrics for presentation to leadership. Coordinates and leads daily team activities. May spend a portion of time performing the work of those they supervise. Assists with management decisions and activities.


Essential Functions:

  • Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime as necessary.
  • Assists in close activities and preparation of month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial statements as needed in ASD LOB teams.
  • Oversee revenue and unbilled reporting to service statutory and group reporting schedules and applicable reconciliations.
  • Identifies risk exposures and recommends corrective action to management.
  • Monitors process controls to ensure compliance with SOX including internal controls.
  • Review consolidated project unbilled\deferred balances impacting balance sheet and ensure appropriately reconciled by Analyst
  • Review of consolidation of final project review to inform revenue load processes
  • Completes special projects as directed and monitors any balance sheet accruals needed.
  • Assist and ensure Project Accounting COE is providing accurate and timely responses to Internal and External Audit for reporting requests.LI-

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2 to 5 years).

2+ year of leadership responsibility

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet requirements of the role.

  • Knowledge of approved accounting practices including financial statement information and preparation of financial reports and statistics

  • Ability to multi-task and handle pressure
