Associate Designer of Cabinetry Sales

The Associate Designer is responsible for supporting the Residential Cabinetry Sales Team through drawing and pricing preparation, order review, preparation of installation set drawings, backup cover to showroom floor, contributing to maintaining the showroom samples / presentation and supporting the company in other areas as needed.

Major Responsibilities
1. Prepare preliminary cabinetry budget drawings and cabinetry pricing packages per company procedure.
2. Prepare Cabinetry Installation set plans / drawing packages for in process orders.
3. Provide Exceptional Customer Service when Covering Showroom Floor.
4. Work with the Multiple Unit Team by providing design support for cabinetry submittal preparation.

Objectives and Results:

1. Prepare preliminary cabinetry budget drawings and pricing package per company procedure.

• Prepare Preliminary Cabinetry Budget drawings / pricing for Salesperson based on measure packages / notes provided.
• Within 3 - 5 days, return complete preliminary cabinetry budget package to the requesting designer including summary notes and assumptions.

2. Prepare Cabinetry Installation set plans / drawing packages for orders in production.

• Within 2 weeks of receipt, prepare installation set drawings per company procedure based on complete project file (including all approval drawings and approved order acknowledgments) from Salesperson.

• Review order for accuracy and make note of any potential issues to the Salesperson if needed.

3. Provide Exceptional Customer Service when Covering Showroom Floor.

• Shall cover showroom floor when a Cabinet Designer is not available.
• All client interactions shall be conducted in a respectful and professional manner.
• Provide backup floor coverage when a Cabinetry Salesperson is not available. Complete New Project Information sheet, answer basic questions, explain our process to the client and introduce Diablo Valley Cabinetry. All referrals shall go to the referred Salesperson. Any new leads shall go to the current on floor designer.

4. Provide Cabinetry Submittal Design support to the Multiple Unit Team.

• Prepare submittal unit drawings (floor plans and elevation views) per company procedure (company example) and submit to Project Designer. Unit Drawings shall be based on the current plan sets as provided and our (Diablo Valley Cabinetry) bidding take offs.

• Generate list of appropriate questions or clarifications and submit to contractor as RFI. Track RFI’s and upon response, complete within the timeline outlined above.
• Complete Design files shall be completed within 2 weeks of being assigned.

Skills & Qualifications - Associate Residential Designer Skills and Qualifications with 1 - 3 years of experience in the following:

• Basic Cabinetry and Construction familiarity, understanding of cabinet construction and Customer Service.
• Design experience in some form (or formal degree in design).
• Familiarity with Design Software (2020 Cabinet Design, Auto-CAD or other similar).
• High level of attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and document well.
• Flexible & open-minded attitude. Willing to learn new concepts, products, and ideas.
• Able to Multi-task and prioritize to keep up with all project requests in a timely manner without putting the company, client, or contractor behind schedule.
• Strong Technical Skills including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel & Adobe Acrobat.

• Available to work 1 - 2 Saturdays a month

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
