DESCRIPTION
The University of California San Diego Rady School of Management provides exceptional business education through its many academic degree programs. The Rady School of Management Associate Director, Employer Engagement is responsible for fostering relationships between UC San Diego/Rady School of Management and employers, entrepreneurs, corporate partners and industry leaders. The position's overall goals are to promote employment and networking opportunities for UC San Diego Rady School of Management graduate business students and to expand the UC San Diego Rady School network through employer engagement programs and outreach.
The Associate Director, Employer Engagement establishes and enhances employer relationships to serve UC San Diego Rady School of Management graduate business students. The position reaches out to Rady School of Management alumni, UC San Diego alumni, and a wide range of employers, industry organizations and networks, fostering peer-to-peer networking, developing and strengthening relationships with individuals within corporations, and identifying employment networks to benefit career exploration and employment.
The incumbent is responsible for the development, planning, management and evaluation of employer outreach and engagement within key industries, as well as engagement with top employers. The position is the gateway for employers seeking to learn more about the capabilities of Rady School of Management graduate business students. The position promotes the employment potential, academic accomplishment, and work histories of Rady School of Management graduate business student, identifying employer hiring needs and collaborating with Rady career advisors, Rady academic/executive directors of individual Rady degree programs, and others to coordinate outreach efforts to employers/alumni. This position also collaborates with the central campus career services and the UC San Diego alumni engagement offices.
This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Employer Engagement, at Rady School of Management Career Center and works collaboratively with internal and external partners to establish and sustain the growth of the UC San Diego Rady School of Management employer network. The position works across all Rady graduate business degree programs and works collaboratively with the executive academic program directors of the MBA, Master of Finance, Master of Science in Business Analytics, and Master of Professional Accountancy programs.
Specifically, this position engages the employer community in programs and services; develops annual plans on employer engagement; manages the information and data pertaining to employer participation and engagement, examines employer interactions across regions and industries, and provides constructive mechanisms to engage employers. This position collects data and produces reports reflecting outcomes, integrating Rady School of Management employment and networking objectives to evaluate and demonstrate return on investment. This position shares information and resources with other Rady career advisors and campus leaders related to possible joint networking opportunities with employers.
Occasionally, this position provides customized career programming and advising to individuals and to groups and works in tandem with UC San Diego Rady School of Management career advisors/coaches to strengthen alumni/employer relationships and increase alumni/employer interaction opportunities.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule with three days onsite and based on employer event schedules.
Must be willing and able to travel occasionally locally and (rarely) nationally. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS
At least five (5) years of experience in the full spectrum of business development of and engagement with employers and corporate partners.
Experience representing a university or organization to establish or strengthen employer or alumni linkages; a track record of soliciting and coordinating employer participation , ideally related to employment/careers/networking activities.
Experience promoting employer/alumni participation in activities related to career development, employment/internship, panel participation, mentorships, development, professional networking, etc.
Experience developing a plan of action regarding employer engagement activities based on data-based decision making and strategic goals. Experience evaluating employer outreach activities based on employment metrics, employer participation outcomes, industry representation.
Experience identifying and discussing employer hiring needs. Experience promoting the employment potential, academic accomplishment, and work histories of clients/students.
Experience establishing new employer relationships in a broad range of industries.
Experience working in tandem with career consultant/advisors to produce positive outcomes for alumni/employers/students including programming, outreach, mentorship programs, treks/site visits, competition/panel discussion participation, career exploration info sessions, etc.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications, tact and political acumen to effectively represent UC San Diego and the Rady School of Management. Rapport-building skills.
Data collection and data tracking: Experience collecting and entering data into online systems; experience tracking outreach activities related to outcome measures (participation, employment).
Experience creating documents, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations. Experience delivering presentations in person and online. Experience leading both in person and Zoom meetings. Presentation skills.
Preferred:
Master's Degree in related field highly preferred. Membership in NACE, MBA CSEA, and/or SHRM in addition to local professional recruiting groups.
Experience in a graduate business school careers/corporate outreach role; familiarity with career paths pertinent to a graduate business school students, graduates, alumni. Familiarity with graduate business school degrees/curriculum
Current relationships with employers paralleling the employment interests of graduate business students especially in California (San Diego, the Bay area, and Los Angeles),and/or other US regions.
Experience with Handshake, 12Twenty, client management systems (or contact management systems)

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $48,900 - $102,300 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $23.42 - $48.99
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
