DESCRIPTION
:

The Associate Director for International Outreach reports to the Director of International Outreach/Global Engagement and assists in the recruitment and retention efforts of international students from around the globe, with emphasis on the following South Asia countries: India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal, and other areas as required.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • In collaboration with the Director of International Outreach/Global Engagement and other recruitment team members, develop an annual marketing and recruitment plan.
  • Remain abreast of global, local and national trends related to F-1 students; in particular students from South Asia (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal).
  • Identify, recruit and develop relationships with overseas high schools, universities, and student recruitment agencies.
  • Develop itinerary and schedule recruitment visits in the following countries India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal by utilizing current and prospective agency partner information, and specific country data and trends.
  • Travel to recruit international students overseas approximately four (4) to five (5) months per year to implement marketing and recruitment strategies, and to establish and maintain positive relationships with business and academic partners.
  • Conduct marketing presentations at secondary and post-secondary institutions, student recruitment fairs, and individual meetings with prospective students, parents and agency partners in person and virtually.
  • Follow-up by email and phone to assure that connections with prospective students, parents and agency partners produce student applications and enrollment.
  • Provide training on Edmonds admissions requirements, student services and academic
  • programs to agency partners. Visit U.S. consular visa offices abroad to explain college programs for international students.
  • In collaboration with the Director of International Outreach/Global Engagement and other recruitment team members, give input on incentive strategies to increase the network and production of high producing business partners.
  • Assist with keeping track of all data associated with their recruitment trips (number of meetings, contacts, concerns, connections, student applications, conversion, etc.).
  • Post recruitment trip, submit written report on market trends, student and partner agency concerns/needs, for use by the college to improve student outreach and recruitment plans, services and retention.
  • Subsequent to recruitment trips, follow up and communicate with business and academic partners and individual students and parents to answer specific questions about college programs and services.
  • Host visits to college from international student recruitment agencies, overseas university and college representatives, prospective students, and parents.
  • Organize individual and group meeting schedules, campus tours for delegation visits including involvement of campus faculty and administrators with occasional dinner or lunch meetings.
  • Provide input in the revision of the Office of International Programs (OIP) college website, marketing materials, Facebook, and other social media specific to India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of college programs and services.
  • Other tasks as assigned.


This is an exempt position reporting to the Director of International Outreach/Global Engagement in the Office of International Programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing ,Sales OR a closely related field
  • Two years full time experience in a professional marketing for recruitment position requiring planning, representing an organization, teamwork and communication to achieve results
  • Experience traveling and working abroad on a business or project basis
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with international students, their parents, and overseas partners
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written, including the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English, and the ability to communicate with people for whom English is not their first language.
  • Experience using a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, the Internet and email.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three or more years of full time experience working at a college or university in a recruitment or marketing role.
  • Three or more years of experience in a position requiring marketing, sales and/or promotional business meetings off site at client offices
  • Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences and abilities
  • Knowledge of South Asia countries


PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires overseas recruitment trips approximately four (4) to five (5) months of the year to represent the college in recruitment fairs and exhibitions, conduct meetings with business agencies and colleges that send students abroad, follow up by email and phone to assure that such connections produce student applications and enrollment, and visit U.S. consular visa offices abroad to explain college programs for international students.


COMPENSATION:

Salary is $57,323.51-$62,451.87 and is based on the Edmonds CC administrative/exempt salary schedule, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, and 24 vacation leave days per year.


WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., including some evenings and weekends.


FLSA Status:

The position is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
