Job Title: Associate Vice President Finance


Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of PACE, the Associate Vice President of Finance sets financial policy and direction while being an active participant and driver of the organization’s overall strategy. The AVP of Finance leads all financial administration, planning, budgeting, and forecasting for PACE. As a member of the leadership team, the AVP of Finance works closely with MJH and FPC executive leadership.


Essential Job Functions

Operations Finance Management & Administration

  • Serve as the finance executive and key business partner with operations in regulatory and strategic decision making and performance evaluation
  • Provide operations financial oversight, including financial planning, forecasting, monthly financial analysis, reporting and analyzing business results, and risk assessment of PACE operations
  • Lead ad hoc analyses to recommend areas of opportunity and/or risk to business stakeholders; develop improvement plans as appropriate
  • Identify and understand key revenue, profitability, and productivity metrics. Drive accountability and improvement with stakeholders
  • Work closely with leadership to create the annual budget. Work with MJH finance and accounting to automate or improve budget processes and workflows when possible
  • Develop and ensure timely and accurate analysis of budget, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the President of PACE and the MJH Chief Operating Officer in performing his/her responsibilities
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning such as introduction of new programs / strategies and regulatory action
  • Coordinate the work of PACE leadership to ensure consistency in methodologies and practices across all locations
  • Serve as business partner in the completion of pro-formas for acquisitions and de novos. Work closely with other functional areas to integrate acquisitions and de novos into existing workflow and processes.
  • Work closely with accounting to provide insights into month end close activities and review financial results with PACE leadership for accuracy. Work directly with MJH accounting to establish IBNR reserves based on analysis of participant expense trends and awareness of utilization drivers. Validate and provide insights to Monthly Operating Review with executive leadership team
  • Work cross-functionally to effectuate process improvements across Florida PACE Centers

PACE Finance

  • Direct the work of the PACE business office and MJH accounting and finance as it pertains to CMS and State PACE regulations
  • Develop and implement the Medicare Part D Bid strategy each year
  • Oversee regulatory reporting activities of the accounting and business office team including but not limited to enrollment, RAPS submission, encounter data submission, and COB/MSP
  • Ensure all financial compliance reporting obligations as required by CMS and the States performed timely and accurately
  • Partner with MJH accounting, finance and government affairs in the annual rate setting process with the State

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Masters preferred

Experience

  • 7 years of progressive experience in Healthcare Finance
  • Experience with financial analysis in a full-risk healthcare environment, including Revenue Modeling and per member per month costs preferred
  • Familiarity of the Claims Adjudication process

Licenses/Certifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred

Abilities Required

  • Proficient in NetSuite and Microsoft Suite
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Team Builder
  • Bilingual a plus
