UCF Advancement is the division made up by Development, Administration and Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving and supports the UCF Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to assist donors wishing to offer private support to deliver resources beyond traditional funding sources, such as tuition, state support and government research grants. We are a powerful team of 130+ professionals who support the university by soliciting, accepting, and managing gifts as well as engaging alumni. The Opportunity:
The Executive Director of Information Strategy and Technology (university job classification: Director, IT Services) reports to the Associate Vice President for Advancement Operations and provides comprehensive leadership to develop a best-in-class Information Technology Services team for UCF Advancement. This position will supervise the daily operations of the systems and applications team and the business intelligence team, with the primary objective of facilitating and optimizing data and technology to efficiently support the fundraising and engagement goals of the division.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary lead for defining information and technology strategy by serving as an industry expert with deep understanding of the business needs of a modern advancement organization, as well as the core technologies used across the industry to support fundraising and constituent engagement.
  • Build a high-performance team rooted in trust, collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Set overall team vision and define specific and measurable individual and team goals that are aligned with both short- and long-term goals of the division. Focus on day-to-day responsibilities of individual and team management to ensure resources are deployed effectively and individual needs are met. Directs various personnel actions including hiring, performance review and other personnel concerns.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year strategic roadmap for the Information Technology Services team. Identify and prioritize opportunities to advance the efficiency and effectiveness of core technology and business intelligence platforms. Apply data governance, information management, user support, and project management best practices to support division goals.
  • Approve and control projects and the project portfolio as it relates to the selection, acquisition, development, and deployment of Advancement information systems. Develop a planning process aligned with the multi-year roadmap that engages stakeholders in defining business and systems requirements for strategic technology initiatives.
  • Lead the development and review of information technology policies and procedures for Advancement. Ensure business processes are fully documented, accessible, and archived appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key technology and information management leaders and stakeholders across the university.
  • Develop and manage the budget for Information Technology which supports core business processes of the entire Advancement organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience including 3+ years of leadership experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree including 3+ years of leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of the business and core technology needs of a comprehensive advancement program, including constituent/alumni relations, annual giving, major giving, donor relations, and advancement services.
  • Leadership and facilitation skills to develop strong understanding and collaboration between the technical and client sides of product development.
  • Ability to work across functional boundaries and develop strong relationships across the university.
  • Significant experience leading integrations, customizations or application development for CRM systems, particularly Blackbaud CRM or Raiser's Edge.
  • Extensive experience developing and executing operational plans aligned to long-term strategic goals.
  • Ability to individually perform, and lead team performance, in a fast-paced environment.
