Job description
PURPOSE: Repair damaged vehicles and body parts of automotive vehicles such as automobiles and light trucks.
BASIC FUNCTIONS Must adhere to OSHA and Bernard’s Northtown’s safety programs and standards.
- Examines damaged vehicles, reports prepare, or review estimates cost of repairs and plan work to be performed.
- Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window and seat operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders.
- Remove damaged sections of vehicles using metal-cutting guns, air grinders and wrenches, and install replacement parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
- File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
- Prime and paint repaired surfaces, using paint spray guns and motorized sanders.
- Sand body areas to be painted and cover bumpers, windows, and trim with masking tape or paper to protect them from the paint. Remove tape and wash surfaces after repairs are complete. Paints surfaces after performing body repairs.
- Follow supervisors’ instructions as to which parts to restore or replace and how much time the job should take.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screening.
- 1 - 3 years auto body repair related experience a plus.
- Effective skills in communication, motivation, performance evaluation and customer service.

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
