Hexagon Agility is a leading global provider of clean fuel solutions in the transport sector. Our technology enables hard to decarbonize segments – such as trucks and buses – to move from diesel to cleaner fuel alternatives.

We are looking for an ambitious and driven colleague that wants to work closely with our engineering team.

We are currently seeking an Automotive Controls Engineer. The position has the flexibility to be located in one of our production sites ,( Costa Mesa, CA, Salisbury, NC, or remote in the US).

Overview:

The Automotive Controls Engineer will create, maintain, audit, and improve systems to meet project needs, testing both hard and software systems to diagnose and resolve system faults.

Responsibilities:

• Implementing and generating software.
• Verify, validate, release, troubleshoot, service and maintain controls, hardware, or software.
• Developing the electrical and electronics specifications.
• Designing electrical and electronic systems and components.
• Analyzing and simulating electrical and electronic models.
• Tuning controls
• Supporting the technical design process by participating in the analysis of technical application requirements
• Participating in execution and documentation of tests.
• Executing conversion plans and documenting possible improvements; identifying disruptions in the processes.
• Capture logs and instances of software that needs to be improved
• Provide insights and recommendations to the engineering team for future product improvements
• Work with senior controls engineers on system improvements
• Develop scripts that analyze specific scenarios that the engineering team would like further insight on.
• Develop and maintain requirements, test plan and diagnostics presentations and reports.
• Field support

Electrical and Electronics includes all electrical and electronic elements within the system: Open and closed loop controls Diagnostics and OBD Algorithms Electronic control modules and related microcontroller architectures Electrical and Electronic devices Embedded software Sensors and switches Actuators, mechatronics, electric motors and alternators/generators, and relays Ignition systems Battery systems Electrical and Electronic tools and information products Electrical and Electronic tool interfaces Interconnects and harnesses Datalinks and communication networks Machine electronics interfaces.

Education Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related discipline
• 3 – 5 years of relative experience

Skills and qualifications

• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills and problem solving
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to handle multiple jobs and adapt to a rapidly changing work environment with fluctuating priorities.
• Matlab and Simulink model-based programming
• Experience with Matlab scripting, Python, C Programming and embedded C
• Experience with New Eagle/Raptor environment for development and testing
• Ability to work as a team member
• Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
• Preferred knowledge on the following:Automotive experience

Vector/Canalizer
Automotive Diagnostics Algorithm
Working with Natural gas engine interface
Understanding of SAE J1939 standards
Calibration Management
Electrical Circuit Design
Software version control tools; SVN
