Corporate Flight Department Maintenance A&P/Line Service Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION
This a growth position will serve as a critical component in the Aviation Flight Department. This individual will report to, and closely support, the Maintenance Manager in carrying out timely completion of aircraft cleaning, repairs, routine and scheduled inspections, and budget forecasts for company aircraft to ensure safety of flight, airworthiness, and compliance with 14 CFR regulations. The individual in this position will use ground service tools and equipment to provide line services to aircraft while placing the utmost regard on safety and protection of colleagues, aircraft, and equipment, while adhering to Federal Regulations, Company Policies, and industry best practices.
This individual will also work closely with the Maintenance Manager to schedule and accomplish facility cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks through use, and upkeep of, the facility Master Task Due List. This includes internal performance and/or scheduling with outside service providers, for the accomplishment of repairs and/or preventative maintenance of facility systems and ground service equipment. This individual will have the opportunity to develop professionally, as well as personally, in a remarkable corporate flight department environment under the guidance of highly experienced aviation professionals.
This individual is expected to seriously strive to learn from Vojet colleagues and the multitude of resources available (i.e. airplane OEM & GSE manuals, FAA, NATA, and trade publications) to accelerate their development.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- FAA Aircraft and Powerplant mechanic license
- Ability to pass a federal background check
- Be able to obtain and maintain a MKE Airport Badge
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Complete and maintain currency with NATA’s Professional Line Service Training
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, late night and early morning departures and arrivals
- Flight operations experience preferred, however team fit with an aptitude to learn is a primary consideration
- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues as well as with high-net-worth individuals
- Ability to maintain strict privacy of the owner, owner’s family, associates, and business affairs
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work without direct management supervision
- Strong planning and organizational skills, able to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to analyze complex situations, problem solve, collaborate with others and effective time management under pressure
- Willingness to step up to accomplish routine tasks as well as exceptional assignments
- Strong computer skills, familiarity and working knowledge with Word, and Excel is preferred
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Work is typically performed in an airport hangar and outdoor ramp area environment in all weather conditions
- Lifting, bending, sweeping, shoveling, and climbing required
- Stepping up/down on ladders, tugs, and de-ice cart bucket etc.
- Stooping below wings to chock/remove chocks and clean aircraft
GENERAL
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the airworthiness of assigned aircraft as defined within 14 CFR by researching permanent records, maintenance tracking program, FAA Airworthiness Directives and Manufacturer’s Service Letters/Bulletins, and approved inspection program(s) etc.
- Ensures timely scheduling of maintenance to minimize impact to the flight schedule and provide for the highest degree of aircraft availability
- Familiar working knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, industry best practices and OSHA requirements
- Maintains a safe work environment and reports any unsafe conditions to colleagues and management
- Performs quality maintenance, preventive maintenance, and inspections to conform within 14 CFR and industry best practices achieving the highest reliability goals
- Troubleshoots reported discrepancies and handle complex technical challenges
- Reviews and ensures all required entries into the aircraft logbooks and permanent records are accurate and preserved in accordance with company and FAA requirements
- Updates and interfaces with Computerized Maintenance Tracking Program
- Procurement of necessary parts, materials, and facility supplies as directed
- Proactively offer recommendations for process improvements, modifications, or upgrades
- Perform facility security checks
- Obtain vendor proposals for upcoming required maintenance inspections/packages as directed
- With the Maintenance Manager - maintains a purchase order log for all expenditures on assigned aircraft
- Participates as requested in event planning, safety and security meetings, safety management processes
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
FACILITY:
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to provide week-day normal business hours coverage for the facility regardless of flight schedule
- Maintain hangar/facility cleanliness - sweeping, vacuum, running floor scrubber, cleaning shop/lobby emptying garbage & recycling cans etc.
- Accomplish, or schedule (as appropriate), facility repairs and/or preventative maintenance with contract service providers as due per hangar facility Master Task Due List
- Monitor/maintain office & lobby area cleanliness and manage contract cleaning service as needed
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to be the point of contact for facility access outside of normal business hours; share on-call person availability with Maintenance Manager, and other staff as needed, to accommodate facility access needs
- Coordinate and share landscaping maintenance workload with Maintenance Manager and colleagues; cutting grass, trimming, spraying weeds, snow removal cleanup etc. as needed
- Routine servicing of facility and ground support equipment (tire inflation, servicing batteries, maintaining cleanliness etc.)
- Shipping and/or receiving materials deliveries as needed
FUEL FARM:
- Maintain Class A/B UST Operator status
- Accomplish Daily/Monthly fuel farm tests/inspections and record keeping
- Fuel aircraft in accordance with the aircraft service procedures and industry best practices
- Order and receive fuel deliveries as needed
LINE SERVICE:
- Greet, marshal, and park aircraft arriving and departing the ramp
- Assist with handling passenger luggage and moving passenger cars as needed
- Assist passengers/crew as needed to pick up vehicles or with transport to the airline terminal
- Wing walking, Towing, and Fueling aircraft
- Service aircraft lavatories and water
- Cleaning interior & exterior of aircraft
- Assist with catering orders as requested
- Aircraft De-Icing
- Greeting passengers upon arrival at hangar
- Washing passenger vehicles as requested
- Assist in shopping/ordering aircraft stock, hangar and/or office supplies as needed
- Assist to maintain passenger area in a clean professional appearance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
