Bank Secrecy Act Officer Job at Metro Credit Union
Take your career to the next level as an Analyst helping support the compliance needs relative to the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering. The BSA Analyst is responsible for management of fraud detection systems, ensuring that Metro Credit Union complies with FinCEN Regulations, USA Patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act and other federal programs related to suspicious activity.
This is an interesting time for BSA, Fraud, and Compliance – the complexities of the field are undergoing interesting developments in a range of areas: the explosive growth of cryptocurrencies; expanding international sanctions, i.e. Russia; the growing industry of legal marijuana; and the variety of new lending products.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall management of the Credit Union’s BSA/AML (Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering) detection systems
- Analyze all facets of a problem and recommend proactive and reactive solutions for further action
- Review and analyze various reports related to currency and transaction monitoring for accuracy and validity. Follow up on any deficiencies identified.
- File accurate and complete reports with regulatory authorities in accordance with established timelines as required by law and regulation.
- Develop and prepare periodic reporting for management. Continuously strive to improve process and operational efficiency. Communicate recommendations to management.
- Escalate procedural exceptions to VP, Risk & Compliance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of operational experience
- Knowledge of regulations and requirements as they relate to the financial services industry with an emphasis in AML, BSA, US Patriot ACT, OFAC & FACT Act regulations.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with all levels in the organization.
- Proven analytical skills including the ability to research, analyze, and present investigative findings to management.
- Ability to work independently with multiple priorities and deadline-orientation.
