The ideal candidate will be results-driven, team-and detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working on multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment.
General Summary: Provide school based support to Special Education Teachers and students with behavioral and emotional needs. Observe and assess students to provide classroom support and interventions to increase student academic and behavioral achievements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work in conjunction with school personnel to monitor and establish appropriate classroom behavior and support students in their efforts to achieve their annual academic and social emotional goals, as applicable.
- Work directly with students to provide behavioral support and teach skills to help them develop effective coping strategies and enhance decision-making abilities.
- Assist school staff in defining and understanding behavior and emotional regulation skills.
- Teach and coach school personnel and students in emotional regulation skills.
- Observe specific students in classroom environment to support and develop more effective regulation strategies.
- Work collaboratively with building administrators to promote universal mental health supports by providing professional development that targets data driven decision making, emotional regulations skills coaching, and behavior intervention strategies to assist educators and support personnel more effectively managing student behavior.
- Attend and participate in any meetings with school staff or for specific students are requested.
- Serve as a consultant to administrators, teachers and support staff.
- Participate in all district trainings to ensure full integration to the climate and culture of the district and respective school.
- Other duties as assigned by the Site Administrator or Thrive supervisor.
- Review e-mail account daily for new messages.
