Job Summary:

As a Bicycle Mechanic & Service Specialist for Wombi in LA, you will have the unique opportunity to develop and launch the Wombi brand in Los Angeles, our first market. We are looking for someone who will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, performing light bike maintenance and repairs, delivering e-bikes and facilitating drop-off orientations, and leading test rides to educate and engage our customers. We’re also looking for someone who is passionate about e-bikes and urban mobility, and excited about changing the fabric of urban transportation.

Please note that the Bicycle Mechanic & Service Specialist position is an hourly role with a fixed wage.

Responsibilities:

• Engaging in light bicycle repairs and assembly of e-bikes and accessories
• Assist with first-time customer and community test rides
• Managing customer expectations for pick-up and/or delivery
• Educating Wombi clients by providing them with a brief rundown of their bike(s) and recommending a service schedule
• Loading and unloading of bikes (50+lbs) from vehicles as well as transferring bikes between the warehouse and store when necessary
• Safely operate a van to assist with transporting Wombi bikes within the local market
• Safely operate a pallet jack and/or push cart on a recurring basis
• Assist the Lead Bicycle Mechanic with other tasks as needed, including e-bike fleet organization and inventory management

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have Driver’s License
• 1+ years of experience as a bicycle mechanic preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Effectively manages and organizes work in a systematic and timely manner
• Passion for e-bikes and sustainable transportation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift up to 65lbs / 30kg on a day-to-day basis required
• Flexible schedule and able to work on weekends
