Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data entry into the billing database, coordination of billing and collection processes, creating invoices electronically and/or hardcopy, posting of cash receipts, filing and maintaining billing and accounts receivable records, following-up with payors on aged accounts receivables, submitting authorization requests, adding authorizations to client data system, establishing and maintaining working relationships with regional staff and external sources, and supporting regional staff with basic technical issues.

Principle Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and submit client billing electronically or hardcopy as required to the appropriate funding source within established timeframes.

2. Prepare and distribute pre-billing, foster parent payroll, billing, A/R aging, and other required or requested reports

3. Maintain accounts receivable ledger noting and reporting discrepancies and supporting documentation within established timeframes.

4. Adhere to system of accountability for client authorizations to ensure all appropriate documentation is received on or before the day of placement or start of services.

5. Lead efforts to resolve funding/payment disputes and discrepancies with Medicaid, private insurance, managed care entities, etc. as necessary.

6. Establish and maintain close relationships with the appropriate personnel within each funding organization to establish a clear channel of communication

7. Serve as support to enter client admission, authorization, discharge or other movement data into the billing software as needed

8. Other duties as assigned.

Education, Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:

High school or GED equivalent and at least five years of relevant experience required or two year degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Data Processing, Business, or similar degree and at least three years of documented experience in similar role.
