The first class, approved by COCA, is scheduled for a July 2024 matriculation. Like its campus in Las Cruces, New Mexico, which has an affiliation with New Mexico State University, the forthcoming Melbourne location will reside on the campus of Florida Tech University, a private STEM-focused university. For the past three years, the College has operated a regional academic center in Florida for clinical clerkship rotations. Based on the success of these rotations, and the support of the medical community and community stakeholders, the College’s board of trustees decided to pursue the new four-year campus in Florida.
