About the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles:
The Indiana BMV employs more than 1,400 team members in branches across the state. From customer service and document management to information technology and finance, the BMV offers a broad scope of opportunities. While most Hoosiers know us for processing drivers’ licenses and registrations, the BMV also offers programs and services in a wide range of areas including driver’s education, driver ability, reinstatement after suspension, and much more.
Location:
This position is located at the BMV Help Desk Office in the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, IN.
This is a hybrid position for which you will be in the office 3 days each week and virtual 2 days each week. Equipment is provided for virtual work.
About the Job:
The Helpdesk Associates assist all of our 131 branches, and our Central Office staff, in documenting and coordinating with local IT and the Indiana Office of Technology to resolve technical issues, meet any software or hardware requests, and user account assistance. The associate would create helpdesk trouble tickets, follow-up on resolutions and requests, and provide the branches and staff of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles with information from the various agencies and groups that we partner with for our technological needs.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Answer phone calls and e-mails from various parts of the agency in relation to their technical issues and requests.
- Create helpdesk trouble tickets for any technical issues or requests within the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
- Provide follow-up assistance with our 131 branches and Central Office staff after tickets have been closed.
- Assist in the requests of new user creations for new-hire employees.

What You'll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirement to be considered for employment:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Top-notch written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deliver information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of employees and customers
- A high level of critical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general policies and procedures
- A drive to assist with the training and development of BMV employees

Salary:
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $34,216. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.
