We are hiring for a full-time Boar Stud Manager to join the team in Stoughton, WI. In this role, you will be leading a team of laboratory, barn, and delivery employees through daily operations at a boar stud facility. As manager of this facility, you are directly responsible for the health and welfare of the boars, collection and proper handling of semen, and timely delivery to customers. Respond to customer inquiries and problem-solving in a professional and effective fashion
Assist in maintaining and implementing Genes Diffusion production standards across the Genes Diffusion, USA system
Responsible for the Management of the crew: hire, train, daily schedule management
Ensure that the overall procedures are applied to Herd Health, Animal Welfare, Hygiene, Biosecurity, Traceability, and production processes.
Maintain the necessary records as requested by key customers
Complete monthly stud inventory reports in a timely manner
Participate in monthly profit/loss reviews and regular budget planning
Assist in implementing agreed upon budget items and cost-saving strategies
Provide feedback to supervisor regarding facility needs or customer concerns
Update job knowledge continually by participating in educational opportunities and ongoing training
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education/Experience

B.S. or A.S. in Animal Science, Dairy Science, Agriculture Technology or related fields
Experience with animal handling in a commercial setting

Swine experience is not required; dairy or beef cattle experience prepares you well for this role

Preferred experience with commercial animal husbandry including swine or dairy

Willing to train
This could include roles such as milker, milk hand, herdsman, herd manager, dairy manager, parlor manager, parlor hand, or barn technician

Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to care for livestock in a manner consistent with industry standards
Familiar with Quality Assurance and production standards
Quality Customer/Client Communication to exceed service expectations
Ability to manage employees and daily production with a positive attitude
Organized and detailed
