CUMULUS MEDIA | Westwood One - Denver, CO has an opening for a full time Broadcast Engineer to support the Network Operations Center. The ideal candidate will demonstrate acute attention to detail, strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work and resolve problems independently with little supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain digital broadcast studios. Programming through mainframe audio router, cleaning, repair as necessary
• Installation and programming of all broadcast-related devices: codecs, converters, encoders, servers
• Low voltage cabling running, connection, management and testing, including network, coaxial, balanced pair, multipair
• Program SAS routers: I/O audio, nomenclature, automation, control panels (physical and soft panels), Rubicon consoles and RioLink
• Provide in-depth troubleshooting and resolution as required for broadcast equipment and systems
• Routine maintenance of broadcast systems, requires after-hours and/or overnights
  • BU uplink testing
  • Shore power failover testing
  • UPS/Generator PM’s
  • Microwave/STL systems, multi-point
  • Software/configuration updates or changes to uplink critical systems
• Perform testing, upgrades, and maintenance on satellite receivers as needed
• Component testing: relay/opto, cueing and continuity. Troubleshooting and repair for all broadcast-related devices
• Provide/update documentation for equipment and system support
• Maintain engineering shop. Stay on top of parts and supplies as necessary to keep workflow going
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• Structured Training or Work Experience: Min 3 years of, IT and Customer Service experience preferred. Broadcast IT experience is a plus
• Strong background with Radio automation systems such as Imagine, NETIA, OpX, etc.
• Strong knowledge of audio routers and router automation, Harris D-series and SAS
• Knowledge of satellite distribution platforms including XDS and Wegener
• Understanding of satellite uplink and components involved: encoder, multiplexers, up/downconverters, protection switches, HPA’s
• Knowledge of IP codecs, manufacturers include Gates Air, Comrex, Telos, Rincon, and Barix
• Networking skills in a managed environment, including programming routing tables, port assignment, IP/GW/Subnet setting
