Business Development Manager Job at HF Sinclair
Basic Function
HF Sinclair is seeking a Commerical Origination & Business Development Manager to be based at our Dallas corporate office. Manages the advanced and complex analysis needed to develop, evaluate and formulate growth strategies related to Crude Oil Supply, Refined Products Sales, Asphalt Sales, and Pipelines and Logistics Arrangements.
Job Duties
- Oversees development of pipeline or terminal projects that provide economic benefit to the Company commercial interests
- Analyzes market place and tracks key developments in crude oil, refined products and asphalt supply and trading, as well as related market movements
- Develops long-term and short-term strategy recommendations for Upper Management
- Oversees development of key projects
- Evaluates opportunities through financial feasibility studies, market research and planning
- Directs the planning and preparation of business proposals
- Negotiates letters of intent, Memorandum of Understanding, contracts and acquisition agreements
- Establishes and maintains relationships with the various industry participants
- Provides economic analysis for asset acquisition, projects or commodity contracts
- Buys, Sells or Exchanges commodities produced or consumed by the Company to maximize use of assets with disposition to refinery or to market for profit
- Interfaces with supply managers to optimize crude supply, products dispositions and logistics supports to maximize profit
- Optimizes existing infrastructure by meeting contractual requirements, negotiating improved terms, or other
- Designs and executes commercial projects to suit the financial, operating, legal, regulatory and operating criteria elements of the Company and to ensure the successful completion and acceptance of projects
- Serves as a technical expert/advisor in economic modeling and discounted cash flow analysis
- Identifies and recommends new market opportunities and strategies for crude supply, products disposition or logistics infrastructure.
- Works closely with Holly Energy Partners for efficient and effective use of available assets.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
A minimum of 15 years of on-the-job industry related work experience is required.
Education Level
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical related field is required.
PREFERRED EDUCATONAL LEVEL:
A Master’s Degree is preferred.
Required Skills
Energy Commodity Origination and Business Development and working knowledge of refinery operations are required. Advanced ability to perform a variety of project analysis assignments effectively. Excellent networking and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, advanced reading and writing skills, ability to multi-task and to ability perform advanced mathematical calculations. Proficient in Microsoft office products. Possess proper personal demeanor and professional outlook that will create mutual respect with peers and a positive work environment. Self-starter with the drive and ability to achieve planned objectives. Ability to be creative, organized, and analytical.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Industry specialization is preferred.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
May supervise one or more employees.
Work Conditions
Office based with up to 40% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tank, rotating equipment. Subject to all temperatures, varying weather and road conditions.
Physical Requirements
Job conditions require sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movement. Job conditions may require lifting and/or carrying up to 5 lbs and climbing up to 3ft. Job conditions may require stand, walking, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 5lbs, pushing and/or pulling up 10 5lbs, climbing up to 3fr, and perceiving color difference.
