Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Under general supervision, in coordination with the Assistant Dean for Administration & Finance and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education, develops, supervises, and coordinates the preparation, maintenance, and management of the fiscal operations for the assigned units. Monitors and maintains adherence to the budget. Coordinates and ensures compliance with university, state, and federal fiscal policies. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 4 years professional accounting experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PeopleSoft financial system and working knowledge of USC fiscal policies and procedures preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to quickly become proficient in using PeopleSoft financial system. Working knowledge of state government and USC fiscal policies and procedures. Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting and financial management principles. Organizational skills and time management skills needed to meet deadlines. Analytical skills needed to identify areas in which spending can be reduced. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
