JOB TITLE:
Business Manager

JOB PURPOSE:
Use considerable independent judgment to manage the business operations of the School of Nursing. Duties include: budget and financial management; personnel hires; interpret, administer, and apply university policy and procedures; conduct special projects as set forth by the Dean; demonstrate leadership qualities within the department; and work under very limited supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

:

Manage the business operations of the School of Nursing.

Manage accounting for School of Nursing & Division of Social Work

Review business practices, policies and procedures; analyze data flow and perform computer reporting and file research for special projects; monitor business activity; monitor and make recommendations regarding account expenditures; has direct budget responsibility for accounting and budget monitoring; Develops budget for department in consultation with college.

Prepare financial reports and associated budget analyses and cost projections.

Track expenses, pay bills, review business/accounting work for accuracy for School of Nursing and Social Work.

Research and report on budgeting and personnel activity.

Counsel Dean and outside agencies regarding policy, procedure and guidelines; provide policy interpretations and application procedures.

Manage records and reporting systems, develop and analyze work flow, administer and maintain forms and filing systems.

Administer grants and contracts for the School of Nursing

Assist with annual reports for accrediting agency, Wyoming State Board of Nursing, University, College and School.

Coordinate student scholarship awards.

Coordinate tenure and promotion processes.

Facilitate hiring processes for new faculty and staff including facilitating recruiting and hiring of part-time and full-time faculty and staff.

Supervise 2-3 staff.

Manage projects to meet multiple and potentially conflicting timelines.

Communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Make decisions regarding authorization or rejection of expenditure/disbursement according to statutes, policies and budgetary limitations.

Prepare computerized financial reports and make projections.

Maintain and manage accurate accounting records.

Resolve accounting problems within accounting policies, rules and regulations.

Work as a team member, foster a cooperative work environment and make suggestions to improve the department.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience:
2 years' progressively responsible work related experience in budget/financial experience, project or program management experience.

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:

Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the

University Vehicle Use Policy

Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
