YOUR ROLE
Responsible for leading Operational process & tools improvement across the GROUND & RAIL product in North America.
Lead the BPE Regional team and collaborate with the Ground Regional line management team to implement and manage/lead at Regional level:
- Performance monitoring of activity, leveraging data analytical capabilities in support of the Regional & Countries Operations, Business Controlling, Customer Service or Pricing teams (Ops performance, quality metrics, revenue leakage,…)
- Deployment of Lean and Continuous improvement culture & programs within the region & countries (ie: Transport Classification Assessment program, CEVA A3 Kaizen program…)
- Identify and support deployment of IT or Digital systems or their features evolution, collected from the business and regional IT organization or coming from Global initiatives. Balanced with development capacity and expected ROI or Customer added value.
- New business processes, tools and methods to create greater efficiencies and product value for the Region & individual Countries & sites with extra focus on Sites layout & localization.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Providing leadership to the BPE function in the development and alignment of Country/Regional/Global strategies and programs to develop and enhance process and engineering solutions that align with the Region / Product business plan and operational strategies; provides input to leaders in developing process, engineering, systems evolution related business strategies.
- Leading the management of Operational Excellence delivery for Region & Countries, facilitates communication and business requirements, establishes critical performance metrics and ensure their availability for the operational leadership.
Prioritize development of analytical tools to support operations (and potentially other functions/area) improvements, help the Region/Countries in their monitoring of performance and achievements.
Define and deploy the Global & Regional Ground & Rail Lean programs at Country & Regional level. Actively monitoring of program KPIs and work with GHO/Region/Countries to support enhancements through feedbacks & reports.
Deploy and foster a Continuous improvement culture in the Region, support countries and local teams in improving day to day their operational performance (as well as other organization’s components & metrics) through a bottom-up approach.
Ensure target completion of Global Lean programs by determining action plans & follow-up for the region / countries & sites. Ensure active engagement of the BPE team with operations stakeholders, including sites management.
Coordinate and support countries operations in choosing/upgrading their systems (TMS & other IT or digital solutions) evolution requirements, assessing if external solutions would be required to achieve Business goals.
Prioritize IT solutions developments, external vendors selections, Process changes and Engineering solutions based on business value and ROI, participating in validation processes with the IT teams and Global Ground & Rail community.
Follow improvement/development projects lifecycles and ensure Solutions selected and deployed are achieving business goals and meet performance levels.
Support Sites localization and layout definition to support operational efficiency (procurement, productivity) in support of the Real-Estate teams.
Ensuring staff and resources are efficient and effective to achieve BPE Function commitments and target quality levels; interacts and assists leaders on escalated needs or concerns.
Addressing and responding critical resolution or escalation items that represent a risk to the business within the sub-function or business line; oversees the resolution of daily or less sensitive conflicts.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Administration equivalent education and experience. Eight years related experience in Transport operations related activity, or in Lean/continuous Improvements or PMO, of which min 4 years’ experience with project management responsibilities required.
Skills: Strong knowledge of Transport operations and Freight Management operations- Leadership skills and ability to motivate and provide visions to individuals and teams.
- Lean culture applied in operational context.
- Knowledge and experience with process engineering and improvement methodologies.
- Change management knowledge and experience.
- Good analytics capabilities & problem-solving skills.
- Planning, time management, collaboration, decision-making, organization, presentation, influencing skills.
- Characteristics: Excellent communication skills in English
- Able to Communicate with team members to provide directions and steer course
- Ability to explain Operational & technical topics to various level of stakeholders
