We are a growing company with 80+ employees, with a great company culture that lives our core values every day. AIE is seeking a Buyer to join our Purchasing Team full-time .

This person will be responsible for identifying and purchasing quality products utilizing our ERP system. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, and maintaining critical inventory. You will fill a liaison role between multiple departments within AIE and our suppliers. This position will require analytical thinking, time management, and organizational skills. Must be an excellent communicator and possess negotiating skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and process purchase orders
• Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate for the best pricing

• Process requests for expediting or negotiating reduced lead times on emergency orders
• Liaise with internal departments within the company and branches for general buying needs, address related receiving and invoicing issues as they arise
• Coordinate with internal departments to help maintain parts, sales, & production requirements
• Track open orders and ensure timely deliveries, communicate those changes to stakeholders and update ETA’s within the system
• Maintain appropriately lean inventory levels by adjusting Min/Max levels and updating lead times within our ERP system
• Maintain ERP databases such as Standard Costing, Supplier Price Lists, Lead Times, etc.
• Create new part numbers within the ERP system
• Analyze market and company trends, apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
• Coordinate with Branch Manager to develop and forecast allocations

Qualifications

• Detail oriented, analytical, team player, self motivated, and organized with excellent communication skills
• Must maintain professionalism, and have negotiation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft and/or Google programs, but solid Excel skills are highly desirable
• Proficiency with ERP softwares, but exposure to Epicor, our current system, is beneficial but not required
• Ability to deal with complex supply chain issues and work with all involved parties to find solutions

Experience

• Must have been a Buyer for at least 2+ Years
• Must have purchasing experience within a manufacturing or similar environment
• Exposure to industrial equipment, farm equipment, related parts, and internal combustion engines is highly desirable but not required
• OEM engine and part purchasing/ allocation is also desirable but not required

• Modesto, CA 95356: AIE would prefer a majority of the time spent in our Modesto office so must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
