Summary: This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, with some Saturdays. Ensures students, faculty, staff, and property safety and protection. Patrols and inspects campus, parking lots, buildings, teaching facilities, and grounds to assure security. Maintains complete confidentiality of students and families with Administration and Deans.

Essential Job Functions:
CAMPUS SECURITY
Maintain readiness to respond to the school’s needs as appropriate.
Direct traffic daily in AM and PM to ensure compliance with guidelines.
Conducts scheduled patrols of campus to ensure security.
Responds to “Calls for Service” and complete incident reports when required.
Reports to supervisors any unusual or suspicious condition detected.
Assists in properly responding to emergencies to preserve life and property.
Opens and locks doors, windows, and gates at proper times based on the on-campus schedule.
Reports to supervisors any incident of visitor, driver, student, or employee actions which could result in injury or loss to the School or employees.
Required to work on several mandatory events throughout the school year. May also be required to adjust on-call hours for safety or security-related incidents or as needed.
Other duties as assigned from time to time.
FIRST AID – Ability to provide first aid or CPR if needed (certified)
PROBLEM SOLVING & ANALYSIS – Ability to identify problems, conduct appropriate analysis, and reach effective solutions commensurate with the level of responsibility.

ORGANIZATION – Must be a consummate professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented, poised, and competent.

PEOPLE SKILLS – Courteous in dealing with the public, faculty, staff, and students. Maintains a professional distance between students and families.
INITIATIVE/ PROFESSIONALISM – As a first responder, must be able to react appropriately in emergencies and other stressful situations. Professional presentation and a friendly yet assertive disposition are required.
LEARNING POSTURE – Must maintain a learning posture and embrace change and growth individually and institutionally.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS – Must be able to walk hills, stairs, and stand for a long time or long distances with weighted objects. Work requires considerable walking to complete patrols. Work primarily outdoors, often in inclement weather. Most of the time (over 80%) is required to be spent walking or standing.

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range.
