Framer/Carpenter/Fascia Replacement

We are seeking a Carpenter to become part of our Engineering Department. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision, under the direction of the Director of Engineering while following all health and safety standards, and keeping our Resort safe and looking perfect so Guests and Members get the full enjoyment of our Resort.

The Carpenter will perform scheduled and planned work, along with responding to immediate needs. This is a field service position that may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Resort property.

Frame and Fascia. Repair furniture and build cabinets, install doors and door frames, build walls using sheetrock, metal studs and wood.

We are secluded along the southern end of Longboat Key, between Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, the AAA Four-Diamond Resort at Longboat Key Club. We have 225 luxurious guest rooms and suites. 20 Har-Tru tennis courts. The resort features two golf courses: 27 holes of golf, and the Links which has 18 holes.

What it takes to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of onsite experience in the carpentry trade
• Experience with cabinet building and framing, fabrications of solid surface and laminate countertops, roof repairs, drywall installation, concrete work, and more.
• Ability to work with blueprints or in-depth sketches
• Ability to operate and maintain power and hand tools and other equipment in good safe condition
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Complete framing orders with a high degree of quality and on time
• Possess basic mathematical skills
• Valid Florida Driver’s License
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, loud noises/vibrations and cold/heat temperature extremes
• Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
• Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays

Must be able to read designs and create designs for cabinetry. All around maintenance is a plus. Education/Experience: One year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
